The Fox & Hounds in West Witton is one of the oldest dwelling places in the Wensleydale area (built circa 1400 & Grade II listed) and was originally a resting place for monks from the nearby Jervaulx Abbey! Situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the Wensleydale village of West Witton, The Fox is a friendly and welcoming traditional local pub, with cask conditioned ales including Theakston’s and Yorkshire Dales Brewery, lagers such as Moretti and Amstel, Inchs cider, a superb wine list, and a wide range of spirits. Home cooked food is prepared daily using local produce.
The Fox is at the heart of West Witton life. A traditional local, it’s very much a community centre for the village. Dogs and children are most welcome. The pub has active teams for dominoes and quoits so if you’re lucky you’ll have a chance to see these traditional games being played with a passion!
